Progress Update Q2 2025

Ah, we meet again, dear reader.!

Once again it befalls me to give you an update on this little project if mine and what a times it's been!

Update time always presents an interesting retrospective exercise for me, truth be told. I think we can all agree life sometimes comes at you pretty quick and looking back across the last three months I often think "damn that was a lot."

Thankfully it was (mostly) in a good way!

Work picked up (as expected; it is the busy season after all) and I had tons of company come in, plus plenty of chaos as I once again had to wade through graduation season. I also managed to go on quite the Americana journey where I went to Valley Forge, Gettysburg, and Philadelphia (ie independence hall, the Betsy Ross house, the Benjamin Franklin museum, where Washington crossed the Delaware, etc.) and somehow managed to still keep chipping away on the olde book while I was at it!

Now, hopefully I'm not jinxing myself here, but barring any unpleasant last minute surprises i think we'll be able to call Beta Reading for Book One officially DONE!

I know that doesn't sound particularly exciting as thats more of the technical side of things but trust me after how chaotic that process has been the very prospect of being able to put it to bed is enough for me to raise a glass in thanks.

Now the question becomes whether I shell out for a professional edit and start working on a Query Letter before or after I wrap up my manuscript for book two.

How close is that to happening? The answer may (or may not) surprise you.

In any event that's where I'm at, dear reader: working my fingers to the bone at my 9-5 while grinding ahead on the project front.

Hopefully Q3 will end with some exciting news but that's for future me to find out.

Until next time.
